The Scandinavian Mountains dominate the western side of Sweden and makes up the natural border between Sweden and the neighboring country Norway. Much of the Swedish land is covered in dense forest, and many large rivers run through the land from the Scandinavian mountains. It mostly consists of flat, arable land in the far south, hills, mountains northwest, and forest. Sweden is located in northern Europe on the Scandinavian peninsular.
